Hi all,

I got my 2003 LT just before Christmas after being convinced that the time had come for SWMBO to have something more palatial to sit on other than the excuse for a pillion that my V-Rod offers.

I've been absorbing information from this site and others at a rate equal to that of Johnny-Five, although I must say that I have my fingers in ears and sing when I see talk of dropping the bike. If I read all those stories, I'd never ride it....

Anyways moving swiftly on, this site has helped me to:

a) Have some idea of what I've let myself in for;
b) Help me learn from the mistakes/experience of others (for which I thank you all) so that I don't spent 5 hours on a 10 minute job - life's too short;
c) Avoid asking dumb questions...

So, with all that being said, I have a problem.

Taking advantage of the unusually cold weather we are having, I decided to have myself a tupperware party.

I removed the stingray with a view to running cables to the front of the bike and the handlebars. While poking some wires under the left side of the yoke, I broke the white plastic split cable clip (see pic) that holds the wiring harness which is causing the loom to snag on full lock, so I'm understandably concerned about damaging the loom and/or myself.

I tried the local dealer who couldn't find the part on their fiche, so they suggested I try an auto dealer, which also didn't turn up anything. I scoured the parts fiche at AS Cycles, and still no luck.

Does anybody have any ideas as to how I can find the part #/part?

Cheers,

Kev

Kev,

Welcome to the forum, and to LT-land. You're gonn love it here. Please consider becoming a sponsoring member. It won't change the level of community the members will send your way, but it'll make ya fell all warm and fuzzy inside. :D

At first glance, it looks to me like a Quick-Clip wire bundle/loom. BORG has them in the fastener section, except theirs are surface mount with self-stick adhesive pads.

Does anyone else share that impression, or am I out there on this one?

(BORG = Big Orange Retail Giant = Home Depot)

Just use a small ty-wrap and run it through the hole that the clip was in as well..

Should work just fine..

Howdy, Kev.. I've seen those in Austin.. used to find them at "Tinkertronics".. you've probably tried "Fry's"...

Send your picture to http://www.mcmaster.com/ on their contact page... they seem to have "everything"...

Welcome aboard!
