Long day started at 8:AM for the ride to breakfast Tom, Mike, Dell, Dan ,Nathan , Doug, Raffy, went to Panamant city (city?) Town? it is a gas station and Resturant/motel the food was OK the waitress a little scattered but hey the nearest place with a pulse is 60 miles away.
The ride there was adranelin packed what with real shiney spots ( read ICE!) long curves and woopty-do's.
Great weekend cant say enough about Death Valley I have never been there before but this will not be my last . Wonderfull roads and the trails! rough but doable . Titus Canyon!
More to come!
In the pic you can see Raffy wondering aloud ? "what have I done?"

Dell,
I enjoyed the photos as well as the video of your adventure. Thanks for posting them! Those steep hills must have been tuckered out a bike or two with so many of them taking spontaneous dirt naps! Looks like you had a great time!

Isn't Titus Canyon a wonderful place?
Here's what I took through my first time... wasn't sure I'd make it!

I was sure wishing for a GS at that time! Last time wasn't so bad...other than the 110 heat and no A/C

Thank you for the pictures. I wish I had the experience to go to Titus Canyon... I will in the future.
Also, thank you all for the canistritomy on my GS in front of Raffy's trayler.
I post some pictures on my site from Racetrack (my first dirty road GS 2 up) and also to the Kilns. We got snow on the ground there...

I like everyone's company and I'm sure looking forward for the next year.
Thank you all.

It's been fun looking at all the cool pictures with captions from Elton and video from Dell.:) I just got home at 4:50. I rode John's cool GS home.:thumb: Left Furnace Creek at 8am. Nathan and Dan are right on my heels, I'm sure. Lost them in Bakersfield. Isn't that a song? Anyway, talked to Hal a while ago. He called me around 5:10 from the cab with John, Doug and Raffy, somewhere around the Stockton airport. Had such a good time that we must do it again. Esp. that Titus Canyon thing.:)

This is the second year I wish I would have gone to DVD with you guys. Been to DV a few time and always had fun.
Raffy, since you've picked up a more dirt worthy dual sport bike how about riding this with me ...

Another ride I always wanted to do....
How about it Roger, John .... Anyone up for it??? Half dirt/ half street. Easy and hard(er) dirt routes. You will need a street legal bike and plenty of big GS's participate. Anyone's welcome. I've got a buddy in the Oakland MC club that will get us an early # and put us all together.

Got in just before 7pm, still feeling really low on energy. The ride home in Raffy's truck was a God send - Thank you Roger for giving up your spot and riding the GS home. Also thanks to Raffy, Hal and Doug for putting up with me on the way home - Sure hope none of you catch what I've had for the last three days.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Here are some Ride Pics from DVDAZE..........
While I came down with the Flu on Friday evening I still got to Ride on Thursday and Friday, I even went out on short rides on Sat and Sun durning the afternoon but regretted it later.
These are the Charcoal Kilns and the road down from there, Mike E drives by when I stopped to take a picture. Raffy's trailer at DVD.
Then a picture of Tom and Brian on the way to Beatty for Brunch on Friday. Three Pictures in Rhyolite with most of the crew, Doug on the bench and all of us airing down for Titus Canyon.
More Later.

Pictures part 2 - Titus Canyon, The Crew.
After a slight detour at the start everyone made it to the first high point about 5 miles in, before heading into the Valleys. That is everyone but Chuck, he had a slightly shocking experience. We waited a awhile and Raffy went back to look for Chuck, found him taping up some offending wiring.
In the order the pictures loaded
Me, Tom, Mike, Roger, Brian,
Doug, Dell, Raffy, Where's Chuck?, The Crew.
Chuck did make it and we journeyed into the canyon.

It gets much more exciting once you're in the deep sand in the canyon...

Pictures Part 4 - Titus Canyon
The Canyon it self starts a little tight them widens out before becoming very narrow neer the end. We all made it out, some with a few new marks on their rides and pains.

None of the posted pictures show the extreem parts as you are too busy trying not to crash to take pictures. Several areas of switchbacks (going up and down) with ruts, ledges, large cobble rocks and sheer drop offs require full attention. 90% of the road is easy as shown.
Next year I'm sure you could do it, but do not go alone.
Fun riding with you and see you in Cambria.

As described by Doug, it was along one of those sections where I discovered that Ted had sold me a bike with narcolepsy. Having a camera in hand was the last thing I was thinking about.http://tinyurl.com/bnkag
