Hello ....Anyone have a tip for removing the two vertical trim tabs on windshield. I have pulled with my fingers as hard as i want to. Is there a trick...or just pull harder??? thanx

Push them inward towards the center of the windshield and then lift up on the inner edge.

You're on the right track...brute force! Pulling up from the outside edge toward the center of the windshield is the way it works. I've used a wide / thin putty knife or sheetrock taping blade to get even "lift". It feels like you'll break 'em right off, but they usually don't break. You may find the little fingers (you'll see 'em when they're off) start to fail. After a half dozen off/on cycles they'll probably need to be replaced. Oh, yea. For replacing, I used a dab of silicone grease on the stainless tab. Line 'em up and give 'em a good smack! Keep us posted on your success.

Just saw Morleys post. His way will work too. I've learned something new here tonight (again). :)

Really? I always stand to the side of the bike, grip the inside edges and pull toward the outside.

From the manual:

Installing the windscreen cover
• Clip the windscreen cover (2) from the outside

(arrow) inwards.

Bill is right...grab with your fingers on the inboard side of the trim piece and "pry" to the outside, and that's right out of the service manual. Keep doing it the other way and you'll damage the tabs and "fins" that snap onto the metal piece to keep it in place.

And...when it pops loose you'll swear it broke, but it won't.

Seems as though I've been doing it backwards. Not unusual for me. Sorry for the reversed info. My Bad.

I know it seems the easy way, but every "good smack" you apply goes directly to the windshield motor assembly. I figure it's a little more effort, but probably worth the effort to brace the back with one hand & *press* just enough to latch 'em. The silicone grease is a good idea though. JMHO, YMMV...............
