It is very interesting how we had so many people clammoring to get registration open so that they could sign up to join 600 of their web friends and fellow BMW and other brand motorcyclists at the, in my opinion, best gathering in the country. To stall at the end of January with only 359 riders and pillions signed up. You folks got something against Missouri?

What's Missour's motto? Show me? That might be a hint... maybe scared them off?
Uh.. maybe I need to read the schedule..? =)

You know as well as I that there will be people that wished they had signed up once that final registration is sold. It has happened every year. Even the first year at Broken Bow, we ran out of rooms at the lodge and had a number of people wishing they hadn't procrastinated on hotel plans. Looking out my front door and seeing snow drifts that are still several feet tall and realizing that it has been over six weeks since I have ridden, makes a bike ride feel like a very distant memory. That provides even more imperative for us to get our summer plans made. The week of CCR, at the end of summer, is always the trip around which our summer plans are made.
There also may be some who are unaware how nice it is around the Lake of the Ozarks. There are so many things to do on the Tan-Tar-A property, in Osage Beach and in the many small communities around the lake. The lake is sprawling and huge with small county roads and great places to ride. Michelle and I have stayed at Tan-Tar-A on a number of occasions including on the way home from Chateau Elan last year. We ended up staying a few days longer than we had planned finding we didn't have enough time to ride everywhere we wanted to go. We are very excited to get back and continue our exploration.

Steve, Randy's post reminds me of now lucky we are to live down south. It's 62 degrees according to my outside thermometer.... I think I'll take a spin! :D

MO HWY 125 is worth the trip. Think of a road that is halfway between the Cherohala Skyway and Deals Gap. The road is built for riding. And nowhere near the traffic.

For me it's partying with 650 of my closest friend's. Kinda like a fambly reunion, complete with the uncle who's had a leetle too much to drink.
I just love CCR, it's the vacation I count the second's to. The saddest thang is you get there and then it seems like it's over.
Who wants to buy an elevator pass?

And if you go to www.curvecowboyreunion.com, you can watch the countdown clock. :D

Lived in MA for a number of years and feel for you poor guys who can't get the bike out - yeah right! We were out last weekend at the superbike show in London, and there's another next weekend - the Annual London Bike Show, and the whole of the BMW line-up will be there, including the new K1200's.
It's in the 50's here, the sun is shining (sometimes), the daffodils have been in bloom for 2 weeks already, the trees are bursting their buds and the first butterflies are out. Sure it's been a bit windy (thanks for sending that one over to us!) but it's been a great winter riding season so far, and I don't even own a heated vest. :rotf: This is going to be the first year in a while that the bike has had to have TWO services...
PS - next weekend we're hopping over to France for a few days before flying to Boston where I'm picking up my new R1200RT. Whoopee! :bmw:
