What do you guys do with the antennas on your LT when you put a cover on it? I tie mine down with some cord so they don't poke through the cover. The previous owner poked some holes in the cover for them.......... :)

Actually the previous owner was right on the money. Most of the full covers out there will include one or two plastic grommets for you to install just exactly where you judge the hole(s) need to be. Personally I have migrated to a half cover, especially on the road, in which case you don't need to worry about your antennas.

I cut a slot down the side of the cover, sewed a flap on one side and then sewed velcro on the flap and the back of the cover. See, I live in the snow belt and there is nothing to do but putz around your bike (it is 8 F outside as I write this)

I just unscrew it, and leave it stuck in the slot between the saddlebag and the bike. I might try the groumet thing though.

I poked holes in an old GW cover I used on my last ride and used a metal grommet to keep the cover from ripping. Home Depot has a tool and grommet kit for under $10.. At least it was a few years ago.

I took off my antenna the first year and had nothing but problems getting the antenna working again. There is a little ball that makes contact with a spring on the mask and alignment is critical.. :(

Hasn't been a problem for me at all Jack. I just screw it in about finger tight. I think I'm going to pick up a groumet kit over the weekend. Taking it off is annoying at best.

For me I guess if it can go wrong it does..
I actually found a few uses for the grommet kit after I had it.. so it was a cost effective purchase.. :D

Wives. Gotta love 'em. I said something about picking up a groumet kit, and she walked out of the room and came back with one. :thumb: "I got it at a yard sale. Paid $5.00 for it with a bunch of yarn thrown in."
