We are planning a trip to Death Valley in early April and would also like to ride the General's Highway through Sequoia National Park about the second week in April. Any information on road and weather conditions during that time period would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Bob

We were there at the end of last April and the road thorough Sequoia
was still closed due to snow at the higher elevations,
it was an excellent time to cruise through Death Valley
with moderate temperatures.
You read about can our Sequoia experience here:

and Our Death Valley experience just above that post
and the whole story if you've got time to waste here:

PS. When it gets warmer, we are still planning to come to Wentzville:)

Bob,
I'm just leaving to Death Valley in few more hours... which you were here :)

April still fine for Death Valley, not too hot, and I'm sure you will enjoy there.

To go to Sequoia Park, you are aware that you have to go around right?
There is no pass form Death Valley to Sequoia.
Either you go north and cross near Yosemite (My guess is that it will be closed in April) or go south and cross Mojave.
There is a back road in between, but it will be closed until late spring.
Sequoia is a great park to visit but chances are that the road trhu still closed in April. We are getting a different Winter this year, so you have to play by the week.
