It's been ages since we last rode. Pre Christmas any way, loads of electrical work up the front end (the back was finished months ago) and other upgrades Second Painless, Moto's, Side Illumination, HID's (H7 & H9), Relays up the gazoo, Seat Heat Indicator (re-engineered to suit a more robust install) Q/D's, Filters, Plugs, and of course the Wilbers. Well I read up all I could find out about Shocks, Springs, Pre-load, Compression Damping & Rebound Damping (high speed, low speed), Sag, Travel etc etc. You get the picture. All really to compare expected performance with OEM's. The test ride was two up, as is our normal style. No pre-load set with the hydraulic adjuster (gives another 7.33mm) as we had no luggage or trailer. Very, very impressed. Seems like there is more control, hard to explain really. A slightly firmer ride noticed from the front, I guess due to the compression damping, a feature not present on the OEM front (rebound only) One affect, before the upgrade, Rena had to hop off prior to our driveway due to the engine guard grinding lightly, not any more. :-) The OEM's do give a very plush ride, for sure. But heck I like these new Wilbers. Cheers

Jenna - one thing on my 05 LT that I've noticed since installing f/r Ohlins, is that I need to readjust my low beam. The knob on the instrument panel does not have enough trim left, so I have to work it from under.
Have fun!

Hi Tim, when reinstalling the nose fairing adjust the knob to FULL UP. i.e. fully anti-clockwise. Adjust the cable end on the headlight so it just clears the mechanism. Trim the beam at 10 meters using the adjustment screw underneath while seated with no pre-load, (you need someone to sit on the bike while you fiddle) based on headlight height. At 10 meters I get over 500 mm of vertical range, if that's is not sufficient, you need to wind on some more pre-load to balance out your load. The rationale is that with a load or pillion or both, the beam will be high requiring a correction down. You then have the full adjustment available. HTH

Sounds like your LT is coming together nicely, Hilton! You just might need to come pay us folks in the states a visit again and go riding! :)

We would love to David, but our plan is coming together nicely. Expect to ship to the UK in the first week of April, meet up with Jenna and the Quantum again to start riding 1st June. We'll fly over and spend some time with family and friends en-route and acclimatize in the Med. Ahh, the luxury of time. We do plan on seeing you guys again in the States, we loved our first CCR in Breckenridge. Every time I see photos of your fantastic country, the urge gets stonger, but there sure is a lot of Europe to explore too. Cheers
