A new BMW motorcycle dealer opened last week in Kelowna! This is great news for me and anyone else in the interior of BC interested in BMW. This will save me 4 of 5 hours in travel time to a dealer in Vancouver.

Good news indeed for our northern cousins. I hope the local community is willing to support the dealer and the dealer the riding community. A beemer can be an expesnive mistress.

By the way, I'm still pissed the Rockets moved to Kelowna.

Having a new dealer in Kelowna is awesome. I regularly ride between Edmonton and Vancouver. That is 1200 km. between dealerships. Way to far. What is the name of the new dealership? I will make sure I drop in next time I blast through Kelowna.

With the demise of McBride Cycle in Toronto this past September, it appears that BMW Canada is replacing one dealer with another. That's good news for you guys out West, not so good for southern Ontario.

The dealer network in Canada is sparse at best as compared to the U.S. I think that this is a result of economies of scale, a much smaller population and a shorter riding season. I am not mechanically proficient and as such I ride an almost 400km round trip for service. I will continue to support my dealer whenever possible.

I hope to see more of you LT riders on the road in the Spring. Ride safe and keep warm!

I don't buy the we can't have anymore dealers in Canada because of the short riding season. Our dealer in Edmonton handles bikes, snowmobiles and ATV's. His shop is busy all year round. The only dealer that has a true 12 month riding season here in Canada is SM Cycle in Victoria. The rest of us slobs have to park our bikes for at least 3 months a year. BMW needs to realize that north of the 49th, BMW motorbikes are at best only going to be part of a dealers business and not all of it. To survive up here you have to have products that you can sell all year round. ron
