Engine Temp Scale...

Does anyone know what the scale/range is for the engine temp bar on the cockpit?

Or if this has already been asked, could post a link?

The middle mark is normal - the top is HOT and the bottom is COLD.

Seriously I don't think anyone has ever correlated this to a specific temp for either the old standard gage or the LCD indicator on the 05 and later. There have been several posts discussing the fact the old style gages went near the red mark before fans kicked in etc. The thermostat is rated at 185 degrees, the fans cut in at 221 and the hot light cuts in at 239.
