It should work fine, Do you have a picture to show us? Perhaps one of the shock itself also so we can see if they gave you the right shock?

I give you a lot of credit for posting the question here first...before reaching for the Dremel! :D Brian's suggestion is a good one. A pic would be very helpful.

I know it will sound foul but: are you sure the shock is in the right position? Can you turn 180*? (not up<-->down, but rotate it clockwise)

I am guessing you have a 1999 or 2000 LT. If that is the case you may have to clean up the frame with a file or a dremel. On one 1999 the frame had to be cleaned up as there was quite a bit of extra material right under the upper shock mount. My 2002 and 2005 LTs did not have the same problem.

Here (http://www.bmwlt.net/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=K1200LT&Number=16291&page=&view=&sb=&o=) is a thread on our old forums that discusses the problem.

I ran into this transplanting my Ohlins from my 02 to my 05. Taking a Dremel and grinding off just the crosshatching in the metal under the top mount (maybe a hir more) will give enough clearance and causes no problems. just go slowly and very little material removal and check frequently until you get things lined up, that way you don't remove too much metal from the frame.

I installed Wilbers on my 2005. When the shock was first placed into the receiver it did not fit as you described. I called Klaus and after discussing the placement of the height preload adjuster hose determined that the shock was off 180 degrees. After rotating the shock it fit fine. Try rotating yours before grinding.

There will be no problem if you remove a small amount of material to allow the upper portion of the shock to just clear the frame.

My 2000 had the same issue installing Wilbers, rotated shock body 180 degress & it fit fine. ( Eye is NOT centered on body )
