well the cell is on, the lights are not but this is where I intend to mount them, and the ballasts, anyone see a problem placing the ballast above the headlights? yes i will make a cover so you can not see them through the windshield and also so they do not reflect in the windshield, with Karen's bike lowered I had some concern about possibly mounting them under the front fender like many have done

here are pics of them

the light which I have not mounted yet

and the aux cell which may get stripped and polished or more than likely I will make a cover for it

well I decided not to mount the ballasts up there, I am going to make brackets and mount them behind the side panels like I did on my LT

David Petersen at BestRest Products has adapted the ballast bracket design for mass production and now offers if for sale. It's still so new it hasn't found its way onto the web site yet, but you can contact David directly at info@bestrestproducts.com for more information.

I have no connection with this I just saw it in ADVRider and was planning on using it on my bike.

Thanks, that is pretty much what I had in mind only I was going to use some tube clamps to mount the bracket I make to the frame, I already started cutting the sheet metal so i guess i will finish it up . or i would just order his brackets (probably faster than making these <g>)

One thing I ran into is we already had the aux power outlet installed on the left side the outlet interferes with the mounting of the ballast on that side, so it is either remove that outlet and get something to cover the hole or put the left ballast elsewhere

Thanks again!

hehehe basically, when we had the power outlet installed I wasn't even thinking about adding lights to it yet, they added the power outlet at the 600 mile service so at least she could run her gps

Or did you just do the same thing?

heheh I now have the wireing all laid out. I'm adding a circuit from the battery to the fron t of the bike so I only have two wires ((one set of positive and neg) running up to the front of the bike. it wil power eveything I add on the bike hopefully making it much cleaner
