I'm thinking about another GPS and I'm starting to get interested in the 478. Has anyone tried one and specifically how did you mount it to your LT?
I have the BMR shelf and have a garmin mounted 2619 right now. The daylight color screen has my attention. The 2610, even with the sun shade washes out when the sun hits the screen.
Tell me what you think.

From what I understand the Chartplotter series, of which the 478 is one, have a better screen in sunlight than the 2610 did/does. And since the 276C, 376C, 378 and 478 all have the same form factor at 5.7"x3.2"x1.9" and you already have a BMR shelf, I would seriously consider the locking MvG mount from TouraTech (http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/navigation.lasso?SubCat=TT_mount&-session=touratech:A1FFB60A1DEB6705AF07C138172F6719). It is the third unit down on the page. I know several folks that have different style Garmins and are using the locking MvG mounts on BMR shelves, DaveDragon and jackd being two of them.
Good luck on you decision.
