Let's get some comparisons going so we can see how our various ISPs are doing.

But, David, to which speedtest site? Sure, you can get a 59ms ping, superfast download/upload speeds to the speed test site down the street. But how about the one in Jakarta or Uzbekistan? LOL!!!

Yeah I've noted wired desktop is usually faster however these speeds were also wireless since oldest daughter is moving home and I lost my wired office......%%$#@##$#! ;)

This is Comcast, which is running slow today. Must be the 8" more SNOW. :(
Usually it runs about 8mb down and 384k up.

Was Adelphia, just changed itself to Time Warner. From Los Angeles:

That's running through Airport wireless to my MacBook. Not great, but not terrible, either. Our Ethernet-wired Mac Mini gets 3,930 upload from the L.A. server.
I'll have to test the apartment when I get back to Oregon, which is on Comcast.

This is what dslreports.com does. They've a database of ISPs and many records from many users. Plug in what you're after and see what they're doing.
They've a pretty good speedtest, as well as tips and suggestions to improve your through-put.

Im getting better speeds going to LA then San Jose which is only 50 miles I use ComCASH :D
