Again I ask? Where's those $4/gal prices that everyone was telling me about not so long ago?! I just kept on smiling, and kept riding my bike anyway. Besides, what can I do about it anyway?
And where's Hawg? He seemed to be the front runner with all the do gloom-n-doom oil/gas threads? Maybe he's out shopping for a late 60s muscle car again! :D :D :D

I need to go find the article, but at a National Retail Council meeting, there was a presentation which showed that a 10 cent hike in the price of a gallon of gas translates into a $40M/day opportunity loss to retailers. I know this stat needs to be based on a certain price to begin with (IIRC, it was at $2.50 per gallon), and "opportunity loss" is different from actual hard dollars, but it's interesting that you can think of things in that manner.

We're taking the price of oil down to attack Iran economically (http://www.politicalaffairs.net/article/articleview/4655/1/234/).
Enjoy it while you can.

... when I filled up beast (not the LT, Nissan Titan). It would be great if we could lock in this price ... putting it on a gas redemption card to be used for the next five to ten years.

Bill,
Don't be angry, as you are getting full service included in that cost. Think about it most of the country has to pump their own.
I love filling my bike in Oregon, because knowing the full service procedure for bikes is essential.

Wow --- our price "north of the border" is only 90 cents ------ per freakin litre - which you need to multipy by roughly 4 to equal an american gallon. And I'm sitting in "oil country" Alberta.
But we get "free" healthcare:histerica . Guess the jokes on us !!!

If you go to the Home site GasBuddy (http://www.gasbuddy.com/) you can click on a state/province and then to a local metro area. The prices by brand and local community are reported daily by local drive-by volunteers.
It includes discounters such as Sam's club, Costco & BJ's as well.
I've been using this to the last 4 years to shop for the best price locally. :)
