I was at the BMW dealer today to decide which stock items to replace with after-market items (following the wreck on my GS). They are really hot on ZTechnik windscreens, which have an adjustable rake without tools. See http://www.ztechnik.com/products/ under the R1200GS.
John Flowers recommends Givi. I don't recall any others advocating other brands. HAS ANYONE RIDDEN BEHIND A ZTECHNIK? COMMENTS?

I haven't ridden a GS with a ZT windscreen, but I have one on my LT and they are a quality poly-carbonate windscreen. Clarity is excellent, so is fit and finish. If I were replacing a windscreen I would certainly check out the ZT.

I owned one for a while. They are a very well made. The wind protection was about the same as the stock screen.
I now have two Cee Bailey screens. A short "summer screen" and a tall (+4") for cold weather.

Bought a ZT at CCR06 from Raffy for the LT, beats the stock. Very clear and about the same wind protection.
I like the shield.

... from John Flowers. I'm not as tall, so maybe it'll work for me.

I suggest that you add the winglets from the GSA or from Cee Bailey they made a big difference with my GIVI and it is about the same size as the ZTehchnik. I was planning on getting the ZTechnik but GIVI was having a sale at the end of the year. They almost make as big a difference as the wings on the LT.

... in the new plastic just yet. However, I know it'll help. I probably wait until my first real trip.
