I am removing an autocom system frm my 05 LT and just had one hell of a time getting the GPS cable off since or some reason I ran it under the gas tank and even took the time to zip tie the cable. I am installing a Baehr system and wonder why I ran the cable under the tank. I don't remember if there was a reason. How do you route your gps or radar detector back to the system under the seat. Too bad I don't need a service right now (1800 more mile to 24000). I am getting pretty good a fairing removal but hate doing it to the tank degree.
Thankss for your help

MARC,
I am doing the exact same thing!!! but I installed my gps cable on the Autocom around the Left side as you sit on the bike, I plan to do the same with the Baehr cable to the Garmin mount passing down thru the dash near the dash lamp as before.. I routed all the cables on the Autocom to FRS/GMRS, Phone, ipod and such and before closing up checked all systems, tied back and all set.. am doing the same as I get the Baehr going.. Hope this helps..

Thanks Bill, I have my GPS ram mounted on the cltch reservoir, so I am going thru the handlebar and down. Are you routing on the outside of the tank?

Ok I got to know, why are you changing to the Behr from the Autocom? I just got rid of my Voice II and got the new Super Pro AVi. I looked at the Behr but I guess the price at $458 won me over. What did you guys not like about the Autocom and what should i look out for?

I just upgraded to a ProAVI and love it. Headsets leave something to be desired, but that is also a function of the helmet they're installed in.

Dont misunderstand, the Autocom in general is a fine system.. Now for me the main issue I have with my pro M1 is the sound level between my passenger and myself is not adjustable and it is always a bit difficult to hear, I even updated the headsets with the "Titanium Upgrade" and this does make music quality very good. I have the M1 on 2 bikes so even after the LT gets a new sounds system I do not expect to change the other yet. But I had the opportunity to upgrade to the Baehr K1200 unit at a GREAT price.. Or I hope it ends up so (Not finished yet)... In every update if you want to attach all your gadgets, a new cable needs to be purchased and inserted for each. Everyone here indicates the Baehr is the BMW of sound systems, and with individual control for almost everything.. I hope I find this to be true! I will post my results as I finish the install.
