Hi, All:
Until now, I have been using several generations of Sirius receivers. They all had the blue LED display and were virtually invisible in bright sunlight.
There are several models available now that have the amber-backlight LCD displays. Did any of you use them outdoors? Can you see the display in the sun?
Thanks in advance, Robert.

I dont have an opinion on colored backlitghts as I have been using an older Sirius unit that has a standard 'no background' color.. That display is as good in the bright sun as it is backlit at night. If you have a choice to find one like that I would recommend that without question.

Thanks, Jack.
Backlight probably does not matter anyway; it is good to know that the display remains visible.

Garmin uses a yellow screen during the day and a black one at night .
A yellow background at night is to bright and will increase accommodation time of the eyes. Not good when our eyes must be on the road. Yellow works well during the day.JMO

I have the amber backlighting on my Audiovox Sirius PNP-2. It doesn't show amber during the day, but I can still read it. It does show up amber at night though. JM2CW
