I know this is not the top of the line GPS but it works for me :) The question I have is that it has a headphones out jack but the volume is way way low coming out. The on board speaker works great but I can't hear it well on the bike. I tried some headphones and that is where I determined that the volume was to low. Could it be that the jack is mono not stereo? Could a mono jack kick out less volume if using a stereo headset? If mono vs stereo is not the cause then I will probably go buy the boostaroo revolution and add it to the install. Thanks in advance.

Check in the manuel to see if the menu has a item to adjust volume, as the Garmins do.

Dpaz, there is a volume control, but mine is not very loud either, i have the 2200t and love it. I turned mine all the way up and still not loud enough.
Also check the 1/8 plug in the side of the unit, it is a small hole and you may have to try a cable with a smaller end to get it to fit all the way in.
I added a boosteroo amp to mine so it would drive the intercom system overide, otherwise was not a strong enough signal to trip the overide.
my intercom is a intaride evo, from www.wirelessbiker.com
they sent me a cable to remove the groud loop it was making also.
otherwise i love it and does everything i need.

Don't know a whole lot, but I do about this one. I have the Crossover, had the same problem. Tried damn near every head set in the house, as well as everything in the store at Radio Shack. Nothing worked. Hours on the phone with support in India, no one had answers.
Then, I found a set of Aiwa Crosstrainer head phones, they worked perfectly. Used same jack as the rest, nothing different. Have no idea why these work, and others did not. They work no differently in any other device either. Nor are they externally powered. While very light weight, still too large to do anything with, and did not want to ruin the headphones just to get the speaker in the helmet. Miss having the sound for the directions, and the external speaker just about does it when at a stop light. Otherwise, I do without the sound.
While not a BMW or other high end GPS, this has done well by us. Way better than a map.
This is the only headphone that I found to work on the Magellan. I probably could drape it around my neck, may have to give that a try next year. Too bundled up for the cold now for that to work.
Hope that helps.

One thing to check is the impedance of the headphones. To get the maximum volume, you want to match the output impedance of the jack to the internal impedance of the headphones. You should be able to find this in your manual somewhere, but it's often hard to find the impedance on the headphones.
If you ask someone at circuit city, they look at you confused, and wonder what impedance is. I've found it listed for headphones on a website, so it is sometimes posted.
