I first followed the K1200GT guide but it ended w/o instruction on wiring the 12 volt connection. Then I found a thread here for the connector which I found just inside the top cover. Pluged everythingin and the GPS still will not come on. Have connected the plug onthe back of the mount and the power adapter to the other connector. Am I missing something?

Hi Docs ; I'm sorry I can't be of help to you but maybe you can be of some help to me. I am installing a Navigator2 on my R1150RT. I have power cable that looks like it should simply plug in somewhere but there are no directions where to hook it up. You said you found a plug-in on the left side of your fearing?
Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bobyk

There are three wires on that plug. You want to use brown (which is ground) and the red with white trace (constant 12v) hooked up to the GPS black and red.

There is a tread on this site discribing but basically if you take off the top-most piece of the fairing which exposes the battery compartment, I found the connector attached just in front of the compartment towards the windshild in the center of the bike. It was attached with a locking strap which I cut off. It was white with a black cap.

There is only one way the plug fits into the connector and the wiring coming out of the connector is wrapped so I cannot see what colors they are. Thanks. I will hunt around a bit more.

I was talking about the BMW OEM Plug by the battery.
