At least Florida is attempting to do something.

Some 441 motorcyclists were killed in 2005, according to highway safety department. But, 56 percent of the fatalities were wearing helmets, Reichenbach pointed out.

"These statistics are telling us that, for some reason, people think they're invincible if they're wearing a helmet," he said.

That's a stretch. I would think the 44% not wearing a lid were the ones who thought they were invincible.

Again you have another law of symbolism (feel good) over substance. Since we're all feeling good, let me tell you that the hard core crotch rocket boys don't run tags (plates) anyway. They have no intention of stopping if the police ever try to pull them over.

Ha,

FL laws are screwed, you know it as well as I do.

I love the part that Doc. Mr Abate himself doesn't mind
the under 21 crowd being picked out of all the mc riders, the real damn funny part is this quote.

"Now, Reichenbach said he has no objection to the new law requiring people under 21 to place special tags on their bikes because it will thwart illegal helmetless riders."

He makes it sound like it is only illegal to ride witthout a helmet if you are under 21, one of his great tactics to make the law look the other way for "his" loyal group of blind followers.

Here let us let the state make a target out of the ones under 21!, what a JERK. I hope very single one of them under 21 remember this, vote and join abate and change it into what it was originall intended to be.

Hell most of the helmetless riders are well over 21 and many of them have no insurance of any type. Start checking all mc riders that are not wearing a helmet if they have proof of 10k in medical payment coverages, do you know how many workers have NO medical health coverage at all in FL!

construction workers are probably the highest rate with no medical insurance.

ABATE at it again in poor taste.

Tom, I'm going to go out on a limb here (because I never do these kind of things) and say that 75% of all states laws are screwed!
