Hello fellow (and soon to be ) Booze Brothers. I was made a memeber of the club in the Tetons. You all may remember me as the "young wippersnapper" passing out the cigars. Being a self proclamed cigar snob and one to never pass up a potential good cigar (or well aged single malt) I though I should start this thread.
In May i have the fortune of going to meet my wife in Europe while she is on a bussiness trip. I will be in Germany for about a week (and maybe Holland and Austria as well) As anyone who has read Marvin Shanken go on about Cuban cigars knows. They are some of the best in the world. Geniva is the #1 largest importer of Havana Tabacco in the world and I plan on making a purchase or two and mailing myself a birthday present. :D I also plan on picking up a box or two for my fellow Booze Brothers. Anyone have any requests? ( granted i won't be able to assure that they won't be snagged by customs)
Griff?? You gave me a bell I at least owe you a decent stoggie...
Also while I'm at it, Could we/Should we designate an exclusive Cigar/Booze Brothers night?? 1st annual meeting? Or should we keep it within our already formed group?
I'm going to cut off here. Seeing as I have "boozed" tonight the longer I type the greater a chance that I won't catch a typo ( if so I apologize)

Hey Jerod, we usually pick a night for the Booze Bro's, yet to be determined, but it can also happen anytime, anywhere and everyone is welcome. Even Meese, who showed up a few dozen times last year. How could anyone make such a shabby debacle of desperado's into an exclusive event? Last year, I laughed so hard my barely healed ribs hurt for days.
One of the kewl thangs about this venue is the villa's. some of them on the water. I think impromptu parties will spring up as happened in the Teton's. Anyone remember the infamous party room? Room number will not be mentioned to protect...... well, there isn't any innocent's. Mayhaps we can do midnight jet ski runs:D. The HDDC suite is definitely on most of the major Law Enforcement site's most wanted.
We'll pick a spot for the gathering on the spring scouting trip and see if by any chance we can have the wanted posters of several hard core cases removed before hand. The usual suspect's apply and at least we won't freeze our asses off.
For the uninitiated: The Booze Brother's was started at CCR Santa Fe by the condom hat wearing Vic from Amsterdam. Folks bring rare, hard to get and different liquor's from all over the world. Domestic stuff is ok, but prepare to get ridiculed. It's a fun event that CCR doesn't sanction, support, nor supply bail money for. If caught, any knowledge of your action's will be denied and the bottles self destruct when empty. All are welcome, lot's of ladies show up and show up lots of the guys. Bring your sense of humour and leave your troubles at at the door as you won't care anyway after awhile. BTW, I don't drink and I go every year.
Jerod, I'm always down for a good ceegar.
Next?

Hell, last year the Booze Brothers happened EVERY night. LOL!!! Thank God for the staff at the Chateau Elan (especially Mr Abu) for setting up our area (sometimes spontaneously).

Jerod,
Let me give you a little advice, Do not buy any cigars in metal tubes if you plan on shipping them back to the USA. Customs x-rays packages now and they may cause your package to be opened and then confiscated. I was buying my cigars from an outfit in spain who would wrap them as a gift. I lost 3 boxes of high end cigars. Customs at JFK were nice enough to send me a letter stating that they had $1200 worth of my cigars and if I posted a bond in that amount I could fight it in court and then loose even more. Luckily I paid much less for them since Spain is the cheepest place to buy cubans.

Howdy Jerod, good to hear from you again! We can just roll the cigar smokin' into the booze tastin' and make things just that much more fun! As noted above, the Booze Brothers seems to have started spreading over multiple days. I think as we get older it just takes longer to handle it - A night of sippin' to get ready for Booze Bros, THE night of Booze Bros, and a night of sippin' to get over Booze Bros. :rotf: I personally don't see a reason to try and buck the trend. :D

Sounds good guys!
Funny story: My brother was in Europe this summer. I sent him with a wishlist and wanted him to pick up 5 or 10 sticks for me. So what does he do? He buys them and walks straight to the post office. Puts them in a box and declares them as cigars on the customs form. When he told me about it I was pissed and figured I was out some money. The box showed up at my house 2 weeks later. Maybe honesty is the best policy sometimes, huh?
