I am building a trailer and I will purchase a dauntless hitch for the K1200 lt 2005. I need to know the height from the ground to the top of the ball.
Thank you

Mine is exactly 13 inches. (That is with Ohlin shocks.)

BTW - don't forget to take photo's during the "build" of your trailer and then share them with us.
I used a small refrigerator, (I get a hard time over that one), and it worked out great. Pulls well up to 115 mph (at which point sanity returned). Some things to keep in mind 1}-tongue should be at least twice the length of the axle width 2}-I put a little extra toe-in on the wheels to eliminate the "tail wagging the dog" syndrome 3}- Keep at least 10% of the gross trailer weight on the hitch (I carry a chicken scale and weigh the tongue prior to each outing)
Have fun and good luck !

I've got closer to 14 inches from the ground to the top of the ball with stock shocks on a '99;
I found the Dauntless Hitch was easy to install; had it two years and been very happy with it.
The electrics were a bit harder to figure out but that was me not the hitch.
