OK... so who in Nor Cal rode their bike into work today?
My temp gauge said 32 degrees... How about yours?
As an FYI... Harley rider in my office passed on riding his bike today. His comment? "Just too damn cold man! You guys on those BMW pussy bikes can handle the cold with those hand grips and seats..."

Now this may be pussy on a bike (see attached). Maybe I'm confused. Some HOG riders I know ENVY the BMW and the heated grips/seats. Most of the wives/girlfriends of our HOG pals are pushing their men to get the BMW (reliability/seats/heat). As the gal who arrived with the man who bought my 02 LT said, "We're sick of our HOG stranding us on the side of the road.":histerica

But on the GSA. Heated grips and Widder vest. First time I've had the vest on in a _long_ time and I knew I couldn't zip it so I didn't try to. SWMBO said no problem, it will fit me. Looks like I'm out a special vest....

I rode. My bike (K1200S) does not have heated grips, heated seats or outside temp gauge. Nor did I plug in the heated liner (I did wear it as an extra layer). :)

Poor little dear, it looks like someone washed her undies in hot water and shrunk them. To make things worse, she forgot to put on her pants. The things us guys have to look at and put up with. :rotf:

Yeah... but you're movin' so fast the cold can't catch up to you... :D

You know, that is true. If you sit still or move slow it is colder than if you are moving fast (wonder if that's a good enough excuse to get out of a speeding ticket). The 'weakest link' are the finger tips and they tend to get cold real quick.

The cool I could take (see current temps below), but man - that 8" + of packed snow is iffy. Add in the freak'n 4' ridges the plows have pushed up - it's a bit of a challenge. The LT is a tad top heavy-ish. She wants to 'walk out' from under me on the ice. Maybe if I took the tail trunk off? Does BMW make chains for these things?

Rode into the Republic of Santa Cruz from Watsonville. Only 19 miles each way.

on the way back from Tucson this a.m. It was spitting snow at me coming across the 10 around Desert Center, blowing crosswind also. Good trip though, Tuscon AZ to Temecula CA in six hours.

51 degrees under overcast skies in central Ohio at 7:00 a.m. today. Raining now, and getting ready to leave for home, but not a bad day to ride, eh?
As far as our HD brethren ragging us about our heated equipment and gear, these things are made for other bikes -- they could install them, or wear them.

Yeah, but being a H-D rider, he meant that in a macho way, right?

Speaking of pussies: it was 31 degrees F. in the San Fernando Valley tonight with a 30 MPH wind. What the hell! A little global warming here please!

That's funny, back in 1982 when I got my first Harley, it was a 1980 Electra glide with the new 80ci motor. It had the "new" push start button that all the other dudes called the "P" button. I guess it was cool to kick start the bike. Now all bikes have the button so that makes the heated seats the next thing to attack.

Sunny and crisp here, got down to 30 last night and that is the coldest I have ever seen it here in my neighborhood of sunny SoCal. I need to go for a ride and look an the snow covered mountains.

30 in Torrance? Wow! I'm from Santa Monica and I can't ever remember it being that cold!!
Cool weather, the ocean, the mountains, great natural beauty, and lane splitting. Makes me almost want to get up and make the ride back (except for the freezing rain and expected snow here today).
Can't wait for June, for my annual two week trip home!

It snowed in Riverside last night. Where I live it's only a mile from the Ocean so it is hard for the temp to get down into the 40's.

Yup--and the high wind was the killer. I'm doing my best to INCREASE global warming and I have yet to reap any benefits! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Well since you asked, no!

I noticed something shiny on the edge of my driveway this morning, and when I went down for the paper saw that it was ICE! Over spray from my sprinklers had frozen on the concrete. That is a really strange occurance here.
My roses are still in bloom, along with many other flowers around the house, but the Hibiscus flowers are looking a little peaked this morning. :D
What a rough time we have here in SoCal. :histerica

One night, I came home to my beautiful ghetto home and found this powdery white stuff all over my front yard. It melted before I could figure out what it was.
'Till this day, I still can't figure it out!

30 in Sylmar and 5 in Lancaster! If this keeps up in SO KA, we might actually have to find and wear our jackets!

I lived in Granada Hills for 6 years, and there was one really strange occurance when there was a tongue of snow that dropped down over the ridge and into the valley, about 2 miles wide and did not make it below Balboa. I had 3" in my yard, drove to work in Burbank, and shocked and surprised everyone else at work with snow on my car! The looks on their faces were priceless. It was strange to drive to work and fine not a trace of snow 1 mile from my home.

Warming up here only 28 last night, some wierd slippery stuff on my porch this morning, looked like glass. It turned to water after the sun hit it! Strange times we live in.

Cold again this AM (30) then rain. It snowed in Malibu and other parts of SoCal, first time in twenty years, so much for global warming!

On a business trip to Boston this week. I go every year at this time, easily the mildest year ever. Been warmer here than in San Diego every day. Very strange indeed.
