Refurbished Garmin 2720 for $449

This seems like a pretty good deal for anyone looking for a 2720. I think Joe has recommended getwetfeet.com in the past so they must be good. :) I just thought I would pass this along.

I looked at the site and noticed you do not get the Mapsource Software that loads on your computer - it is not included in the package!!

I even called them and they acted confused and talked real fast like don't worrry about it - its included but we do not have the units in and we will know more tomorrow . . . ?? Then the guy started talking about Trip and Waypoints manager.

Not to throw water on the deal - anytime you are buying a Garmin GPS unit if they do not include the computer based software you will either need to buy it or use an old copy as they tightly control this software. BTW only two GPS units are allowed for each registered copy of software.

While the 2720 and many other units have the entire US loaded it is of no benefit if you wish to do things on the cumputer and up or download.

Finally when talking to the guy he said Garrmin will give you the software free - well if that is the case go for it - great deal!!

I organized a group discount purchase with GetFeetWet.com and they were great! Over 50 of us saved a LOT of money at the time. Mostly refurbed 2610s and 276Cs. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with this vendor again...not for a second.

IMHO, the question becomes one of whether the software is included in the standard brand new package by Garmin. The Garmin site's StreetPilot 2720 page (http://www.garmin.com/products/sp2720/#) shows the MapSource® City Navigator North America NT DVD included in the package.

That said, it appears to me that GetFeetWet would be obliged to provide the software or refund your money (15 day return if unused, otherwise 15% restocking unless defective).

Actually, the HSN price is $50 higher at $499, compared to GFW's $449. ;)

HSN does have a more liberal return policy it seems.
