I am trying to get the driving distance from Houston to Mazatlan Mexico and it seems as though the free side of Google Earth wont do it. Any ideas or suggestions, I dont have GPS and the Mex maps don't have the mileage/Kilo. calculation. Thanks.

Try MSN Maps
http://mappoint.msn.com/(xbkwwh45d0vint45ljhosa45)/directions.aspx?&StartName=Houston%2c+Texas%2c+United+States&StartLocation=29.76049,-95.36975&EndName=Mazatl%c3%a1n%2c+Sinaloa%2c+Mexico&EndLocation=23.24171%2c-106.39027&DataSetLangID=USA&RouteType=Quickest&RouteUnit=Miles

Hi, David --- play around with this (http://www.zenithair.com/misc/distance.html) site and see if it helps. I think most of the *how far is it* websites are gonna calculate 'as the crow flies'. Butt, you might be able to calculate roughly the mileage by using segmented route (i.e., point A to B to C to D; etc). Least you can get outta Tejas that way!!! Good luck.
Oh, and one other way. Give Hank at Rhinewest over in San Antonio a call < 210 . 826 . 0014 >. He's been down to Mexico many, many times and might help with mileage, route and times.

Not a lot of information available. I did find this (http://www.ontheroadin.com/travelinnformation/routes_and_driving_distances_thr.htm) site. Garmin does have maps for Mexico but they only cover the area around the major cities.

This program did it without hesitation. See the route and directions below.
This program can be had for @ $40, but don't do that. For $100 at Sam's Club or Costco, get it with the GPS antennae. It gives you a receiver for the GPS that plugs into your laptop that makes your laptop the biggest GPS screen you've ever seen; and the biggest keyboard you've ever used with a GPS. Though not useful for motorbiking, its fabulous in the cage or RV. When we go to a strange city, Connie drives, and I navigate. I love to show her where we are on the big screen, and I can easily enter destinations on a real keyboard. Kewl for cheap!
