Not a big deal to some, but to messenger13 it was a big one.

(And not too shabby for a rider outta northeast Ohio. Did that mileage in 6 months.)

Pleased to see your'e enjoying it, Joe - I've got 12K on my LT, which, bearing in mind, salt, ice, snow, horse droppings etc. for more than 6 months of the year, I'm quite chuffed with.

Congrats Joe!! Just think how many miles you'ld have if it weren't for having to go home and pick up clean clothes... ;) (jk).....

Woolly, that's a good amount of miles as well given your conditions. Must admit, I can't imagine having to deal with horse droppings - that would take some of the fun out of it I am sure!

Congrats, Joe. Glad I could be a small part (very small) of yesterday's milestone. Did you hit that on the way home after yesterday's ride?

Joe, I was wondering how many miles your wife has logged with you in the 13K of the past 6 months. You noted that she likes the GT ride as much as the LT, in an earlier post. Thanks, Barnett

Congrats, Joe. Glad I could be a small part (very small) of yesterday's milestone. Did you hit that on the way home after yesterday's ride?Yep. Right before I got home. Nice riding with you Howard. You're doing good . . . real good. :)

Thanks, BarnettMaybe 500. Although she has plenty of room, the top case works for a good backrest, and wind protection is good, she does not like the seat like she did the LT's seat. I'm sending the stock seats to Russell very soon. We'll see what she thinks next year.

Hey Barnett, That's a good question. He's been down south about 9 times this year and yet once to bring his wife with him. http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif

Congrats Joe... You will add a ton more in a few months!!! BTW, do you plan on keeping that bike for a while or do you plan to trade her in after 'xyz" miles?

Joe! What has been your longest one day ride so far?Almost 900 miles one day. But I'm sure I'll be topping that on my ride across the country next April/May. :)

How did you hold up after 900 miles on the GT? Any ergo's that you would change?

How did you hold up after 900 miles on the GT? Any ergo's that you would change? The only ergos that I did change before the 900-mile day was that I lowered the handlebars all the way down. You would think this would introduce more pain, discomfort, and/or pressure on the arms, wrists, and hands. But on the contrary. I was confused why the trip was so comfortable until I realized that I had the bars down. I was amazed! I shared this with Grif, and he has since 'seen the light'. :)

If you're asking about lowering pegs, or raising the bars, or want highway pegs...you're talking to the wrong guy. Fortunately I am a 6'3" rider that likes (loves!) tight ergos. The seat is the only thing questionable. Although, my seat was replaced under warranty and the new seat (off an '07) doesn't feel as bad as the original one did. To Russell or not to Russell? . . . that is the question.

Good riding Joe. Only 500 with your SO? We did 511 on our Niagara Falls Canada trip alone together. You leaving her home or is she afraid to ride with you?:histerica:

Grey Goose only has 4,900, but I picked it up mid-summer. One shot attached is in the Niagara Falls Botanical lot in Canada and the other is in my brother's yard in Jeannette, East of Pittsburgh. My SO prefers riding the GT over the LT. We should get together with the gals and ride to NC. Both of our sons are ASU grads so riding to Boone was a pastime we learned to enjoy.
