I currently have XM Satellite radio on my LT. (Delphi Hi-fy). I have it transmitting wireless to the BMW radio and works quite well. I never tried to hard wire it due to not wanting to take all the Tupperware off. (Power is hard wired)
Question to you is.
Has anyone used the Sirius Satellite radio wireless to transmit to the FM frequency?
I keep reading that it is very weak and need to hard wire it. All of these thought of changing service came about when I purchased 2006 BMW 330i with Sirius radio built in to the car. Don’t want to have two separate satellite services. Changing to one gets the second radio at half price per month.

I have both an XM2Go and a Sirius Sportster that I have used wirelessly on the LT. I can't tell any difference in sound quality. I prefer the Sportster because it has can transmit on more frequencies (easier to find an open channel and less distortion) and I like the programming better.

I have a Sirius radio. I use a cassette tape adaptor on both the bike and in the car to feed the audio. The signal strength and sound quality is noticably better using the cassette adaptor than with the FM modulator in my opinion.
The only way I'd use the FM modulator is if I didn't have the cassette adaptor and I didn't feel like doing the wiring.
I have also heard that the DJs talk more on Sirius. I can't speak from experience because I haven't listened to XM, but I am sometimes annoyed by DJ banter on Sirius.

I have the Sirius Visor on my bike and use the FM transmitter to broadcast through 88.1FM. As long as I don't travel into an area that 88.1 has a station broadcast, it sounds great. :D
As for Sirius, I don't mind the DJ's as they typically give background info on artists and songs that you wouldn't find elsewhere. Also, listening to straight song-after-song starts to sound like Musak...
I love satellite radio! :D :D

I have a 2001 LT with an audio cassette so I transfer via an cassette adapter. It is a much better transfer media than rebroadcasting. I used the FM radio originally and when I was near any large city I would get poor results. If you have a clear station it should be the same with Sirius. It is probably no better or worse than XM. I'm sure the newer Sirius are much better than mine both with respects to the FM, just as the newer XM units. They probably use the same chips... that's business..
Your signature says you have a new LT and have a CD player. I belive with your radio I was under the impression that there are AUX in jacks on your unit. I would use that. It is worth the time. The Sirius should play better than a CD. I use the AUX in adapter in my F150 and it is by far better than a CD. Winner hands down. If I had that option on the LT I would do it in a heartbeat.

i have sirius on my lt. i have both services and it sounds as though you have already discovered the better one. i have an adaptor the connects directly to the antenna this sends the signal directly to the radio not wirelessly. i live in the dfw area where the are many stations on all frequencies i have no problems at all in addition some of the fm transmitters do not rebroadcast in stereo. i think it is worth the effort to go to best buy or one like it and get the 30$ hook up for your antenna.

I have Sirius and use the Sirius One radio ( $29.00 and have found it for $19.00) that allows me to use the frequency 87.7 which is great so far I have even gone through Chicago without having to change the frequency. One reason I love Sirius is because it has every NFL game.
