Haven't seen it, but is it the road as in attached pics? It's a notorious one...

Yep, that's it. I managed to catch the second showing last night. Can you imagine mountain biking down that road, passing trucks and buses all the way?

I watched the show late last night. AWESOME!!! I so want to ride "The Death Road". Once I buy a GS, it'll only be a matter of time. ;)

How did it go?? The vehicle down hill had the right of way or was it up hill. :)

No, that's not how it works at all. The largest vehicle always has the right of way. :)

Just let me know when, Joe. I'm in. That road would be worth buying a GS for. :D

Looking at some of the vehicles making the trip, I would have to say that you may be correct, IF the brakes on the down hill vehicle are working! :D

My dad drove from Calif. to Nebraska when the mountian roads were only one way dirt. When he met a car or truck going up he had to back back down to a wide spot and let the others go by. The ones coming down would spin out trying to back up. Sometimes he had to back down to the same spot several times before the traffic was clear long enought to reach the next wide spot.

You know,

I see these roads and it's one thing to drive on them, but I gotta wonder..."Who is the raging maniac who cuts the raod with a dozer in the first place?" Gee whiz....I get a panic attack just looking at the pics!

I saw that show a while back, and as my mother, who was a VERY wise woman used to say, "There ain't enough tea in China" to get me to walk that road, much less drive it or ride it. :)

I'm thinking if Joe and Ken ride the Death Road together, only one of 'em would come back... :eek:As much as Ken and I jab at each other, I don't think the Death Road is any place to screw around. Besides, Ken would be the least of my worries. Get one of those truck drivers driving way too fast, hogging the whole road, all high on Cocca leaves, and then a tie-rod on his truck lets loose . . . good times to be had by all!

And I get to pull everybodys front brake pads off for the ride down.
Cause I'm not concerned if you go over the side and get kill :D (CMON ITS THE DEATH ROAD) however I don't want to have to repell down the side of the mountain to drag your injured butt back up  , cause you squeezed the wrong lever in a panic!

Much more fun when you've got 30-40 screaming passengers to deal with. Did you see the guy that went off the road in a bus, survived, then went off again on his next trip.

Kind of like the Japanese guy who survived Hiroshima, only to have his company send him to Nagasaki a few days later . . .

He was just a passenger! I think his family died in the first accident. Now nobody will ride the bus with him......I wonder why?
