I have been shopping for a GPS for Xmas and thought I might post the info I gathered.
Some of it is pretty interesting. I tried to add the hyperlinks to the things that some people might not be totally familiar with and the pricing links. I also highlighted the cells in green with what I felt was the best feature in a category.
I concluded that the chart plotters are feature rich and with the $100 rebate are great deals right now. They blow everything else away as far as mapping, weather and traveling goes. I am especially impressed with the 478. Try the bluechart g2 link to see some neat features.
Just having the Celestial information pages on the chart plotters appeals to me, let alone Loran TD positioning and the weather alarms. Nothing brings me into focus faster then baseball size hail warnings, of course I live in AR and used to live in OK and TX so I am deeply in touch with this particular emotion.
Anyway, draw your own conclusions (har, har).
Hopefully this might help some folks with the decision making process.
Merry Christmas.
