I just bought one. Nice screen, comes with great variety of mounting attachments. Used in car and on bike, briefly. Easy to read screen. I bought it because I can update maps etc via computer, and is waterproof. Will mount nicely where BMW factory GPS mounts on console - a whole lot less money, newer technology.
I will wire it permanently with supplied harness over winter. Easy to move from bike to vehicle using supplied suction cup and cigar lighter attachment.

I own a 2005 K1200LT.

Lowrance is releasing the 350c mid November. I also was looking at the 500c and I thought it was a tad big for a motorcycle. The 350c offers different features like MP3 storage via flash memory, built in FM transmitter if you don't wasnt to wire it in, built in battery and under $500. Right now Crutchfield (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-katA45Zwhj4/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=270650&I=550IW350C) is taking preorders at $499.99 but once it's released I'm sure you would be able to find it cheaper. Not speaking harshe on the 500c, just pointing out an alternative.
