I know a couple people that have them on their Goldwings. Nothing but great things to say about the product and the company.
What do you have to do to get on the prototype list?

what if you just want to buy a bottle of water or soda and put it in the cup holder?
That design looks like it holds that cup just fine but will it hold an off the shelf bottle or does everything have to be poured into that cup?

I had a Butler cup holder on my past GW and loved it. I went to Home Depot and purchased some soft plastic tubing and made a long straw so I could drink with out having to remove the cup while riding worked great.

I think the Butler might convert you to a mug ... it is insulated and has a special cap that virtually eliminates moisture dripping on you or your bike. you can hit any bump or take any hard turn and not spill a drop or lose the mug. Additionally if you wanted to stay with the bottle you can always put the cap in your bag and drop a bottle in the mug ... it makes a great Koozie!
