The BMW factory Xenon for the GT consists of two parts as far as we can tell - the 'control unit' #7 below (ballast/igniter) and the bulb #3 below.

The first part number hit the system today:

63 12 7 683 099 - Control Unit $350 (ouch!)

Still no number and pricing for the bulb. It looks like it is going to be a touch pricey! It may come at a lower price when the retrofit kit becomes available, though no one knows for sure.

I will post the bulb pt# and pricing as soon as it hits the master.

My tech quoted me (about a month ago) $439 total. Kinda curious to see how close he is now.

He is actually working from the same numbers that the BMW model intro team bandied about earlier this year, projecting the kit to be 'around' $400.00. FWIW BMW help line still thinks there are no Xenon equipped GTs in the country. :histerica

You really think the OEM capsule will be much more than $89? Wow! CQlight.ca charges...um...$50, I think.BMW automotive capsules run upwards of $200. The designation for the GT lamp is a D2R, but looking at the module that they call the light, it might also have the igniter built in. Rumor has it that Philips as well as Osram have developed Xenon capsule/igniter combinations to eliminate the concerns of high voltage leakage around the capsule connections.
