The Kawasaki Training seminars have begun on all their 2007 models. A considerable amount of time was spent on the new C14 due to it's complexities. So far we know it has 3 ECUs all linked together, with a 4th needed for the ABS option. No other specs yet (dang it!) Hopefully, they'll be a bit more info in a couple of weeks.

Found some pics taken at the Toronto show where they ACTUALLY got to sit on the thing. Pics are of a 6' guy sitting on the C14, an FJR, and the Norge. This should give you some idea of the riding position.

I agree witcha Joe - and Doug is every bit of 6'4".

That guy in the pic looked like he needs to pull back the bars, or get longer arms. I don't think I could do my 700 mile run to KS on that bike without doing some mods to the ergos profile. Course, pics can be deceiving, so I'll hold firm judgement 'til I see one in the flesh. And obviously, I'm pretty much in tune with ole Toad's ergos, so shouldn't be trying to make copy!

Thanks for the scouting, Doug.

Yeah, the guy almost looked to big for the bike, but in person the bike doesn't look any smaller than my Connie, and I have plenty of room on it. 'Course with me on there, there ain't too much room left for a passenger.

Gonna be interesting to compare wheelbase stats on the C14 vs the K-GT vs the FJR.

Found these little tidbits to be interesting..........

"Oh the key thing, it's neat. If somehow you leave your transmitter on the counter and drive off, after a set range of approx 1 kilometer the dash will tell you, you left your keys xxx miles away. The tire inflation readout only works above 12 mph. Early models will have one data port to download error codes on the Generation 2 diagnostics. You will not have options to change set-points for fuel mapping.

ABS also adds a fourth ECM to the puzzle. Keep in mind, all ECU's are registered to each other, ie. you cannot take one from another bike and make it work even though it is same year and model. They tell us most of this is being driven by Insurance regulations in Europe and UK. Perhaps, but I think we are seeing a changing of the guard so to speak. Keeping all the technology in house and forcing a customer to return to a dealer for service.

Oil level on this bike will be critical, any overfilling can cause air to enter the system, the VVT is operating off of a low pressure pump ( they didn't say how low) but I can see problems if air is ingested into the VVT system."

If he is 6ft, there still looks to be plenty of knee room.
