What would YOU like to see presented at CCR?If you are interested in a topic, chances are others are, too.
I can make no promises, other than to try to find someone to present. If you would like to lead a discussion on a certain topic, enter it and notify me via e-mail at jzslomka@aol.com .

I've seen people post requesting help with digital photography. If people bring their own laptops and cameras, this could be doable.

If I attend, I would be willing to facilatate an Intro to Digi photgraphy type course. I'm no expert but I know enough to be dangerous.

I won't know if I can attend until May.

Don't know if I'll make the rally, but here are topics I'd like to see..

Technical... Suspension (new shock installs), tires, clutch(and assorted woes), rear drive removal/replacement.

Other... camping (from basics , even "technical" camping), Trailering (including additional maintenance)

I won't know if I can attend until May.Bruce Yates did an introduction to digital photography session this year at Chateau Elan. We did find that we needed to devote more time to it than the one hour allotment. It was very well attended and as far as I know he plans on doing an expanded session at Tan-Tar-A. If you find you will be able to attend (you'll be kicking yourself if you don't), you might contact Bruce and dovetail with his session. Maybe you could do one on Digital P&S and Bruce could focus more on DSLR. People would also be very interested in storage, postproccessing and printing. I will be helping Bruce and would certainly work with you if you want to put together a session.

It is certainly a topic that generates a lot of interest.

Have you attended the photo discussion facilitated by Bruce Yates, Rob?

He does a session every year. I know he does underwater work, himself, but I think the session covers 'standard' digital photos, also. If I am wrong, please let me know and also give me a bit more insight into what you are looking to find.
We have several very competant people who I can approach about doing this topic, and who might just be happy to have your assistance!

Thanks for the suggestion. It can only make CCR better for all!

Thanks for the reply, Channing, and for your interest.

I'd like to clarify things a bit, though. I take it that you would like to see other service proceedures than are usually done at CCR. I will be certain to get this info to the proper party.

This survey is for those topics that can be presented at one of the discussion sessions scheduled all week long. Several of the subjects you mentioned do fit into that catagory (camping, How-to Trailering), but other topics seem more directed toward the Service seminar.

That said, last year we did have a Bridgestone/Firestone technical guru do a session regarding tire construction, care, pressures, problems, etc. Perhaps I can get someone to do the same for suspension, or chassis geometry, ergonomics, etc.

Would that type of session be of interest to you, or anyone else??????

I think a seminar on discerning whether one is talking to the real Ken Meese or not would be very helpful to some. :)

Dayle says she'd be glad to teach that one. ;)

I was at Bruce's Digital Photography Class at CCR this year and learned that I know absolutely NOTHING about what he was talking about!

I spoke with a few people on the way out of the room and it seems that a lot of people were hoping to get a class on Digital Photography 101!

Tire changing procedure? How do to it yourself?

Also, as you mentioned: final drive. How to assure that the stud is really torqued to 7Nm?

Robert.

Never had to do this (touch wood) but how to repair punctures at roadside would be very interesting - just in case...

Never had to do this (touch wood) but how to repair punctures at roadside would be very interesting - just in case...This is PERFECT -- I'd attend that session. Twice. Have never had a flat but want to know how to fix it if it happens. If this seminar is given it would be nice to have each and every person plug the tire. Nothing like hands-on experience.

We could practice on Joe's GT. He'll need a new set by then anyway. :D

Sorry couldn't resist.

As someone who sees folks eyes glaze over as soon as I start talking. I'm thinking that we certainly could have more than one aspect of digital photography.
And a basic computer use course. Photography editing and printing...Stuff like that.

Even stuff like how to plug a tire would be usefull for those who've never done it.

We could practice on Joe's GT. He'll need a new set by then anyway. :DYea probably. But to tell you the truth, it's easier to change a tire on the LT. For the GT, you have to wait for the can to cool down, then loosen it and swing it outta the way. Then there's the cute little T-50 lug nuts that BMW fitted onto the GT's rear wheel. (Nothing like having to buy tools for your new bike just to remove the rear wheel. :()

FWIW, I have had to change 2 rear tires and 1 front tire while touring. It would be a very good seminar if it just involved teaching the best way to remove and reinstall the wheels...let alone plugging. And speaking of that, I've had to help 2 friends plug a tire roadside. Some of those kits that you buy and entrust, don't always work as advertised.
