I have seen some days in Colorado where these would help, but I'm not sure I am crazy enough to try 'em.

"When you gotta go, you gotta go..." As in: Go in the snow. I'll bet Rock has a pair on order. :D (if not already installed!)

Do them chains come complete with snow, or do you have to get your own?

In my misspent youth, I often rode in situations where a set of those would have come in handy. I found that lack of traction on the rear wheel wasn't usually as important as keeping the front wheel out of "ruts" that had been created by other traffic. Ice under snow was particularly hazardous. Yes, I fell down a lot, but had a good time doing it! :D
Not likely that I'll need anything like that down here in Florida! :D
However, the guys up in Alaska report great results drilling tires and inserting regular car tire studs. If I was ever to venture into the snow belt in the winter again, I'd consider the studs. :D

A guy I used to work for (in Michigan), was quite a rider in his day.
Chet Dykgraaf, grand national champ in 1946 (flat track motorcycles)
he rode Thriumph, Norton and Indian.
I believe he's still alive, he'd be 96 now.

Told me about back in the day,
he'd let the air out and wrap old pieces of motorcycle chain around the tires, link them up and air up the tires, ride all winter long.
his words:
It was a "bitch" when you hit the railroad tracks.

I guess you would be following the law, so they should have no problems with you. You gonna try this winter?

I ride everyday to work but it seems that CT doesn't want any snow. I would be willing to try them but I agree, 190 is a little tall.

Wunderlich has them.
Do a search to get the part number - not that easy but start with part number 9002196 this will get you the list of chains on thier site.
You can order them from.

Or try calling Santa Cruz BMW directly they carry Wunderlich.
