Ok the HID low beam is pretty much no brainer early to-do but after riding with RS Mirrors for a week I would not ride one off the dealer floor without these.

Umm . . . I'll take a GPS over another set of mirrors anyday. Then again....I want to know where I'm going, and not where I've been. :D

Motolights :)
I got them before the HID was THE thing to get.
IMHO anything that helps you to be seen better is the first thing to get.
I agree with Joe the GPS is great add on, and my second major item.

Since I lane split 3-5 miles every day while I was riding, I found on a service loaner K100 that high mirrors were a real pain during that activity. The LT was easier, the K100 bar mounted mirrors seemed to line up with just about every pickup and SUV, which seem to be the great majority of what I was splitting between. That caused splitting to be a bit nerve wracking on the K100, even though it was quicker to flick around than the LT was.

My vote would be for a custom made seat. Before I got my Rick Mayer seat I couldn't ride for more than an hour without having to stop. Afterwards, 2-3 hours is no problem at all.

I'd say GPS

My vote is for the gps also. It takes you places you would never think of going and then finds your way home when its time.Great for finding the less travelled road.

I'll go for the Smartire,so I don't have to wonder what my tire pressure is.

I am voting for the Cee Bailys windscreen (after the HID of course)
In NM the majority of riding on the hiway is 75+ and it REALLY helped.

My SO, Kathy is the best addition to the LT, and one of the main reasons I keep the LT. Of course a low beam HID is nice to have along with 2 sets of PIAAs, as is the Cee Bailey. Next big expense will be either a set of Ohlins or a custom seat; I think eventually I will get both... just a matter of budget!
And NO, Mike is not the best addition on my LT, no matter how much I like the guy!!!:histerica

Ok the HID low beam is pretty much no brainer early to-do but after riding with RS Mirrors for a week I would not ride one off the dealer floor without these.HID's? Yes, early to-do...but not first. You can always avoid riding at night, which many do. Since I love to ride at night, it was the third item on my list.
Fancy mirrors? Sure, but still, the LT mirrors are pretty good and would, for me, make them a lower priority. Truth be told, I subscribe to the Raul Julia motto from the movie Gumball Rally; After ripping the review mirror off the Ferrari he exclaims, "What's behind me is not important!"
The number one mod by far is a custom saddle. If sitting on a bike is not comfortable a rider simply won't ride. Of course, if you're a two-up rider, the pillion saddle is THE most critical component on the bike. Nancy didn't want a custom saddle saying that the stock seat was comfortable. One ride on the Russell and she's been good to ride for the last 20K miles including a 1,000 mile day.
If Momma's happy, I'm happy.
That said about the pillion, I think the large (BMW) passenger floorboards would be my number two add-on. Nancy's feet would get sore with the standard one's and, again, she didn't want me to spend any money on her for the upgrade. Now that she has them, she love's 'em.

Actually now that I think more about it, if money is no option I saw some awesome accessories walking around the bike show last weekend that would look great on the bike...Naw, even if money was not a problem I still couldn't afford one.

But I got mine with everything but the HID lights already on it.... and I rarely ride at night, so I wouldn't put my money in lights. So MY first add was a set of cables for the mirrors... and my MOST IMPORTANT add was a battery tender with the proper connector....

My 06 came with about everything one would want. I put a CB on to talk with the group I ride with. But I think a custom seat! Just can't figure out which one. It's sorta hard to carry several different seats with you on a long trip unless you got a trailer. Then there is a different windscreen, touring pegs, different shocks, exhaust, newer helmet, and definitely a custom raised leather BMW jacket...

I've only done two and rank them in this order:
PIAA 1100X
CB #2-2
I'd LOVE to add XM next spring.
Will get a trailer once I can afford it.
I have my thoughts about GPS
