Shift lever adjustment?

I hate to ask dumb questions but I did not get an owners manual with my used 2006 K1200LT. Can I adjust the position that the shift lever sits in? It is a little to high for my comfort. I'm sure I may get use to it soon or later but right now I have to WORK to shift up and take my foot off the peg to shift down. It would be nice if I could move it down a few degrees. Don

Thanks a lot. Especially for the tech drawings. That will help a lot. I am waiting for the 2006 Service Manual to come out. Hope it doesn't take to long. I like to do stuff like this myself rather than drive 200 miles for a 30 minutes adjustment. Don

Thanks a lot for the info ya all. I adjusted it tonight and I want to say that I only lost the X?/#@%&*%$#@@$% pin or key or what ever you want to call that #$%*&*(&&$# thingy twice. Once it was on the floor on the other side of the bike (don't know how it got there) and the other time a magnate found it in the bike trying to hide. The one thing that I would like to add for someone else trying to do this is when you are going back together. make sure that you push the ball joint on until it snaps. I tried for 20 min. to put the lock pin back in and it just wont go until you get that ball joint snapped into place. Then the pin goes right in. I just hope I went far enough. To late tonight to try it out. I adjusted the bottom one out one turn and the top one out 2 turns.. Don
