mirror mounts

is it possible to replace the mounting parts that the mirrors snap into?
my right mirror is loose at best
ive tried some of the adjustments mentioned at various places on this site
what id rather do is just replace the worn parts that let it be loose....

has anyone done that?

Yes the 3 holding bolts can be removed using a Torx 25 screwdriver and replaced. A little persuasion from a visegrip may be needed...
Use plenty of grease on them before putting the mirror back on.
In fact I need to replace a bolt that broke on my LT last week. It will be fun drilling to take the remaining piece out, and then fix the thread...
The mirror is now holding on for its dear life with just 2 bolts. Good thing my mirrors are tethered!!!:bmw:

Usually these parts don't "wear" but rather break. Especially the plastic around the springs in the mirror. Make sure they are clean and well lubed to operate properly if nothing is broken. Ensure there is a gap all the way around the housing where it meets the fairing.
