I just around to watching a TIVO episode of American Chopper and they are building a bike for the movie Arragon. One of the first scenes is a shot of the KGT with the two main actors riding it to OCC. It was different seeing the BMW roundel on American Chopper.

Sorry about the misspelling but the movie is Eragon and the KGT rider was Jeremy Irons with Djimon Hounsou at pillion. They were riding to OCC to get a bike built for the movie. Jeremy is a rider. Not sure if that was his BMW, probably rented but he looked comfortable on it.

Looks like Jeremy is a real BMW rider. Piece of trivia:

Was ticketed in England for driving 97 mph. on his BMW motorcycle on June 1, 1995. Irons was charged with speeding and fined $225.00 and had his motorcycle license suspended for three months.

In the late 70's, Jeremy had a dog named Speed. He would motorcycle to work on the set of Masterpiece Theater, carrying the dog in a box attached to the front of the motorcycle!

... that when his son, Max, was 7 years old, Irons took him on a motorcycle trip around Ireland?

"But to understand his approach to acting it helps to look at the buzz he gets from riding monster BMW motorbikes. Since 1999 Irons has been a member of the Guggenheim Motorcycle Club, which rides in pursuit of art to locations that include Lisbon, St Petersburg, Novograd and Las Vegas. Members include Thomas Krens, the director of the Guggenheim foundation; Frank Gehry, the architect, and Dennis Hopper... Describing a journey to the Guggenheim in Bilbao, Irons declares: "By the time you get there you're tingling, absolutely in the right condition to look at art. Your skin has been shredded off and your nerves are exposed."

...At the other end of the autobahn, 100 kilometres away in Salzburg, Jeremy Irons is describing the genesis of his affection for motorcycles in the bar of Schwartzstrasse’s Hotel Sacher. Louche and leathery in more than just his choice of outerwear, The Mission star loves to ride big bikes, and is apt to pronounce on his adventures in actorly couplets (‘I’ve walked the Alps, I’ve ridden the Alps…’ being just one.)

‘On my fortieth birthday – the classic time – I bought a second-hand BMW RT100. I’d never ridden anything so fast in all my life. I was doing 90 and no idea how to stop this. One day I picked up a friend - she came out in long skirt with a split up the front, flung her leg over the machine, and I thought, ‘it’s worth the money already.’

Sounds like Joe to me!!! Funny that you never see them both in the same place..............

It was a new R1200RT. Nice little silent plug for BMW...
