K1200GT: Any vibration issues?

I presently have a Ducati Multistrada, and while the bike is great overall, I'm having shoulder and wrist problems from the vibration of the v-twin. I'm told that a R1200RT or GS has similar vibrations, or virtually any 2-cylinder m/c for that matter. I've "heard" the K1200GT, being a 4-cylinder, has less vibration issues. What are your thoughts on vibrations in the K1200GT? If I have problems with my wrist and shoulders with a v-twin, am I dreaming to think they will disappear with the K1200GT? Thanks.

The new GT isn't the smoothest 4 cylinder I've ever owned, but nor is it an issue for me. In fact, cruising at highway speeds the GT doesn't vibrate at all. It's only when you're really having fun in the twisties that you feel any appreciable vibes. And I don't seem to mind those. :)

I've read a few threads where folks have complained of vibes or buzziness. To which I have to reply, "Huh?"

Mine is smoothe is silk, unless you're rocking and rolling in high R's. I just love that sound: a pissed off bee hive. I got more vibration on my LT in the 4500 RPM range than I've ever gotten on the GT at any RPM.

They vibrate at high rpm > with motor breaking. The vibration at the upper revs is strong on the 06 I rode. Perhaps software upgrades smooth it out. The Lt is much smoother by comparison. The Lt will give you a minor buzz at 4200 rpm in the rider left foot peg. Go compare and see.

My 2000 Duck ST4 didn't vibrate---It's called SOUL. Really, some vibes at lower rpm--nothing to complain about--perhaps i'm not sensitive--my wife sayes that too. My newest ride--"06 GT--smoooooth as silk. Perhaps verrrry little btwn 4,5-5k rpm--you feel it on the pegs --not the grips. But then again--i'm not sensitive. :)

My 2000 Duck ST4 didn't vibrate---It's called SOUL.As a fellow GT owner, I'd argue with that statement. If vibrations are the root of soul, we should all be riding a Harley. My '98 ZX-11 was the smoooothest thing on two wheels . . . gawbs of soul, IMO. No sir, "soul" is an intangible thang. It's what speaks to each of us in different ways that you can't quite put a finger on. You just know it when you feel it. :)

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm going to check a GT out at the Long Beach, CA m/c show tomorrow. I will be riding my Ducati along the coast in the morning, as the surf is up and is quite a show!

As the boys have mentioned, the GT is not a vibration device. I've ridden lots ot 2 cylinder machines. This GT is balanced very well, indeed an evolved machine that gets your butt down the road really fast.:yeah: You can run fast for long periods of time. No sweat. The adjustments for rider ergos are much friendlier for most humans than the Ducati family. I love the Duc look, not the reality of the ride. My pal at Midas bought an MV. Now he's pissed about the ride reality.:histerica: It's like girls, get one you really want to be with. Not just for one night.
