Would you believe I got one a couple of weeks ago. I tried it on Saturday, and I got some very good video of the road directly under the front wheel of the bike !!. There is no viewfinder, so getting the framing right is a matter of trial and error, but the lens does have quite a wide field of view. When it is mounted on my crash hat, I did not know it was there. Little increase in weight, and virtually no extra wind noise. The controls cannot be used when riding as the membrane keys require quite a hefty shove, so you need to start filming before you put your hat and gloves on. You can store up to 1 hour of video on a 2gig SD card. Overall, I'm quite pleased with it, and once I get the framing sorted, am happy it will produce good results.

click here (Helmetcamera.com) makes a great one. You can't fully see the potential till your helmet slides off your bike landing on your camera.
The machined housing is worth every penny. Plus I have extra mounts so use it around the shop sometimes.

Rock -Scary new avatar - is that a tat ?? - good thing bout the Oregon Scientific cam is that it is totally self contained - no wires, seperate recorder etc., etc. It can only record 1 hour max, but to be honest, who's got the attention span to watch more than 5 mins of video - a goldfish can only do 5 secs

No its just a painting!
I have dropped my camera several times. would have had to replace it a couple times by now. I look for long range durability in things i'm gonna use on the bike.

This could also be an alternative

That looks like it will fit the camera I have (without the machined housing) I have a headband that holds it, but this goggle set up is better.
I'll have to see if they will sell me the thing with out the camera.

Wooly, seen your other post sending me here.

Sorry to sound thick but as I understand it the camera does everything, i.e. records directly onto the card.

What do you do with the card afterwards ?. How do you save whats on it ?.

It uses a standard SD card, (2gig gives you an hour of recording at 'high' resolution, 2 hours at low res) - you can then download the file either by USB cable (supplied with camera) or use a card reader, and then use a video editing suite such as Premiere, Vagas Video (or even MS MovieMaker) to edit and produce the finished product. It also comes with a video lead, so you can playback straight onto a TV.
