BMW makes awful seats. I put a Bill Mayer on my LT and my butt has been forever grateful. I am getting a GSA next month and the first farkle will be to change the seat. Any suggestions as to which is the best option. I am totally into comfort and couldn't give a rats arse about the price.

Rocky's speciality is GS's, his personal one has a snake skin pattern on the seat thats looks "striking".

The Rick Mayer R1200 GS seat in BMW ON (December 06, page 43) looks like the one that came with my used LT. It's the most comfortable seat I've owned.

The author of the BMW ON article, Tom Hall, reported, ..."I knew immediately that I made the right decision with the Rick Mayer seat!" However, this is a pretty subjective area.

Give the GS ADV seat a try first. Have one arriving next week and this is my intention. This I know, I would have agreed with you on BMW seats prior to '05... the K1200RS, the 1100S, the 1150GS. I changed every seat. But updates to these models have come with excellent stock seats. Vast improvement.... with the exception I hear the K1200GT seat is ugh.

This is my third Rick Mayer seat, I would highly recommend Rick. Best way is a ride in appointment but you can always get it done through the mail too.

Previously my Favorite seat was a Russell on my 05 LT, Now I favor my Corbin as being much better comfort wise for me!!!

I second that Rick Mayer comment. Matter of fact, my bike got it's new seat on the 2nd day of ownership after having had a Rick Mayer seat on the previous one.

Thanks Guys! It looks like Rick Mayer is the overwhelming choice. I will give him a call. Ron
