Assuming I don't have a MSF class to teach and I'm not otherwise occupied with family stuff I'll be there as well. Just name the time and place.

Would love to go but we'll be out of town then, very busy month, how about sometime in the early new year?

I agree it's a busy month but we still might be able to get a few together.
Also I can't think of any reason why some of us don't do this every month
maybe in a different corner of the state,
there is never going to be a time that will work for everybody,
so far Lynn and myself are possibly meeting somewhere on December 16th
How about if we do it again in January,
I'm thinking near lake Okeechobee, or....?
Whatdoyasay Joe, which would work for you, January 13 or 20th?

Tentatively Jan 13 sounds great. I like Lake Okeechobee or perhaps Ft. Myers Beach. There is a nice spot that caters to bikers, generally entertainment right on the beach.
I love Lake Okeechobee but don't know of any spots. It's all good!

Man, I hate to do this to ya Hans 'ol buddy but I just got my December teaching schedule and unfortuantely I have a class Dec 16 & 17. I'd opt out but it's the only class I got for the month. Actually, looking over my month's schedule the only Saturdays that I am open are the 23rd and the 30th neither of which are very good for travel. I could do any Sunday except the 17th. Man, I thought retirement was supposed to be relaxing!! How did I ever have time to work? If ya can pick a Jan date early then I'll be sure to keep it open.

Sounds good I'm sure there would be more eye candy at the beach but if we go somewhere around the lake we may have a better chance of getting a few riders from the other coast

How about this January 13th date, would that work for you?

Maybe December isn't such a good time,
we're certainly not getting the response I'd hoped for,
or possibly it's the short notice?

Maybe six weeks notice would work better for some of the others,
we've got 154 registered forum members in Florida,
surely some of them want to meet and eat?

How about it guys and gals January 13th?

This should also be the date for the Space Coast BMW Riders mid-month club ride so some others might come as well.

Don't know if it will affect how many will be available to make the RTE but I just got my invite to the BMW MOTORCYCLE OWNERS OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA ANNUAL WINTER RALLY held every year at Camp Blanding and the dates are January 12th to 14th.

Regardless of date, a meeting place that you might want to consider is the RIVER RANCH RESORT. It's located on RT 60 about half way between Lake Wales and Yeehaw Junction. I was there several weeks ago with the Orlando BMW Riding Club. At that time they had a great Breakfast Buffet and said that beginning in Jan they will also have a lunch buffet. They would probably have to be contacted in advance to make a reservation. http://www.westgateriverranch.com/index.cfm

Alex, maybe you could pass the word and invite them?

Great idea Lynn,
I have not been to the River Ranch resort in about 20 years,
it was a great place back then and I'm sure it's grown some since.
They've even got their own airport if any of you outta state LT riding pilots wanna drop in :)

Regarding the Winter rally, You're right,
I got my MOA magazine yesterday and confirmed that this is the weekend of the winter rally,
we may lose a few to that event,

I used to attend that rally also, I've always enjoyed the ride up there and back,
but I no longer have an interest in standing around freezing my @ss of on what traditionally has been the coldest weekend of the winter.

Last time I went through there they were still doing some remolding to the grounds heck the whole place after they had been closed for quite some time, before that i was pretty young we used to go for the country music parties

Will do but Lynn brings up a point about the winter rally (I didn't know it was over that weekend). I know at least several of our members will be going so, not to throw a monkey wrench in the works, we might want to pick another weekend.

If you guys could wait until the 27th and go to this one already in the works. Frogs landing is good food and place is on the water. There were about 40-50 motorcycles last year.

Excellent idea and suggestion,
I will probably be there, thanks for the link, it's been added to my favorites.

I don't want to back out of the original plan this early, I'd rather wait and see what develops

Count me in for Lake Okeechobee on the 13th if it's still on and I'm not on call. I might come up with some other BMW riders on RTs and GS's if no one minds the "two cylinder" bunch. Please PM me if there are any changes, as I don't check this section as often as I should.
