Round the World Trip

Hi Guys (and Gals) - planning the early stages of a 'round the World' trip in a couple of years time.

Question...

Can you ride from Sidney to Perth on tarmaced (metalled) roads on an LT - last time I was in OZ, the roads fizzled out after you'd left town. (I'm thinking this trip might have to be done on a GS :( )

Any ideas on going from Sidney to Perth would be most welcome... ? ? ?

Hi Brian. Sealed all the way now as far as I know. But bl**dy boring. Must be one of the longest straight stretches of road around. Just make sure you take a good selection of CD's Cheers

I've got a feeling I read somewhere a few years back that the main roadway around Oz was finally completely tar sealed. Probably some research via the web would tell you pretty quickly.
Maybe start with the NRMA or equivalent motoring orgs, or the Fed Govt is responsible for main highways so that should have some info.
