I received two emails from the USPS indicating a package was sent to me from a woman in Wilkes-Barre, PA. I've never heard of this woman. The email has my full name and address as the recipient and a link to track the package. I copied the tracking number and went to the USPS to track it. It says the package was delivered to me in California. The second email has a different tracking number and had no information regarding the package. The link appears to be real as it took me to the same site I always use to track packages, the real USPS. My credit card has no unauthorized charges. Neither does my paypal account or bank accounts. If this is a scam, I can't figure how they are benefitting. Any ideas?

When you get the package let us know what was in it. Otherwise just blow it off. Could be nothing more than phishing expedition

Never got a package. The USPS site says the second package was delivered to me, also in California. (I live in NJ) Still no charges on my credit card or other accounts. Go figure.

Is there a link to reply to that say something along the lines of "if you've received this message in error yada yada"?
There could be a way to confirm your email is a valid email by clicking on the link that was provided, or if you respond re the package not arriving or receiving the message in error, you will end up on the spam list of all spam lists.

Not to high jack the thread but I had a similar thing happen to me. I received an e-mail notification that a UPS package was enroute to me from one of the sites listed venders (not remember which one now) had my address and all the correct information and even my e-mail address. I kept the message thinking that I may have ordered something and forgot that I did. Waited and waited no package.

Went on-line and UPS showed the package had been delivered to an address somewhere back east. I was not charged for anything forgot about it. Well guess what another notification and the same scenario. Still do not know what is going on. I guess I will need to investigated if I receive another one.
