Back in the late '80's I got my first BMW a R75/5 in a couple of big greasy boxes. Took me a couple of months to get it together and running and rode it out to the man who I got it from's house.
Had a couple of cool brews watched the sun go down off of his porch. The field next to his house was sort of grown over and his tom cat wandered out to see about a mouse or whatever he could find. A horned owl happened by, saw the cat, mistook it for a rabbit, drifted down and grabbed the cat and started to gain some altitude. About 10' up the cat partially recovered from the shock of the owl grabbing him and started to fight, feathers flew. The owl gave up and let the cat drop from about 20 feet up or so, first cat I ever saw not land on his feet.
We ended up taking the cat to the vet as the owl had torn some pretty good sized holes in his back. Cat was absolutley worthless for hunting mice after that, he spent more time looking over his shoulder for that owl than he did looking for mice. Wonder what that owl thought, maybe the same as the eagle in the film, that's one tough rabbit.
