I love it! Haven't done any serious miles, but did ride to Houston and back in one day, a 6 hour cruise without Gilligan. 6 hours on the stock seat crippled me, 6 hours on the Kontour left me feeling like I could have gone another 12 hours.
I don't care what seat you buy, just buy one, it makes this bike perfect. I love the Kontour for our climate, which is usually HOT. The breathable cover really moves air. It was 48 degrees when I left and after running the seat on high heat for a few minutes, I dropped her down to low and was more than toasty enough.
My short daily runs, twixt 70 to 100 miles leave me feeling nada on the glute's. I just love it. Do it!

i checked this out:
Depending on what your needs are there are several options/pricing for the GT:
$475.00 for the Driver built to KonTour Specification. BakUp back rests are available and I can price that for you as well. They are simply awesome - especially when rebuilt to KonTour Specification.
We can go a few different routes on the pillion depending on your needs. A simple recover to match is $250.00. Add $50.00 for the breathable mesh underlayment. ($300.00 total, great if you only use the pillion once in a while.) Add $100.00 for the full KonTour Specification. ($350.00.)
The top case pad is $150.00 recovered. Any additional work there is overkill in my opinion - but once again the breathable mesh is nice, add $50.00 or full KonTour Spec is $250.00 total. If you ride serious distance with a passenger this DOES make a difference - my wife loves the "whole enchilada" on our LT since it does help to absorb some road vibration and the visco elastic foam conforms to her spine - but the GT's suspension is so amazing.... not really needed. http://www.k-bikes.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
Any of the simple recovers include the waterproofing/heat rejecting barrier under the cover as standard.
Water proof non-slip cover that covers BOTH seats, $69.00. HIGHLY recommended, or a single seat cover, $39.00. There are no seams in the cover in order to prevent leaks - it is not completely form fitting - but it does cinch up tightly and grabs under the seat pan with a thick elastic cord and cord lock. You can ride on these covers for years - very tough fabric. Picture a large black oval shower cap and you get the idea.
Add $35.00 for shipping for two seats, $25.00 for one.
did you do ALL of this?
about $930 total if i do both seats FULLY with the rain covers, and shipping
a good bit of money
but.... IF it is as good as you say......

Sandar the magnificent hardly rides anymore and deemed the rear seat acceptable, so I just had it re-covered. I ride with the bars all the way now (who'd thunk?), so the question of a backrest borders into that leetle state of ludicrous. That was it, though I did do some UPS overnight action... talk about pricey.
Now, on the LT, I did the full pimp job.
