A STRONG SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT
WILL MOVE ACROSS SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA AND INTO CENTRAL ARKANSAS
OVERNIGHT. STRONG NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP BEHIND
THIS SYSTEM...WITH SUSTAINED WINDS BETWEEN 20 AND 30 MPH WITH
GUSTS TO 45 MPH POSSIBLE ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. WINDS WILL
WEAKEN SOME BY THE LATE AFTERNOON AS THE LOW PRESSURE AREA MOVES
EAST.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND GUSTS OF 40 MPH ARE EXPECTED.
WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR
HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.

With winds from 45 to 55 mph sustained, gusts to 70 mph and a full day ride'n 'round town on my LT, I can - with confidence say - Yea - the LT is windproof.

Gravity, now that's another matter - best handled with grace and skill :thumb:

Sustained strong winds (around 40 mph) are not fun but doable on the LT. The gusts are what get you...especially when they are crosswinds. I'd think 70 mph gusts would be near impossible to handle (cross component). That's only 3 mph less than and F0 tornado...and only 4 mph less than a Category 1 hurricane.

Living in the southwest...we get huge spring wind events. I ride to work every day and I can barely keep it on the two lane road to the office when the cross gusts are 50 mph. I feel like I'm nearly scraping pegs trying to keep her in line and on the pavement. You gotta have fast reaction time at both the initiation and the cessation of the gusts.

I think the LT is horrible in the wind. My old Honda Nighthawk did the same winds with relative ease compared to the LT (same windspeeds / same roads).

Watched a big rig 'tank slapper' this morning on IH-10. I'm heading along the access road down to the storage unit; wind is crosswise to me; I look over to my left and a big rig has just crossed a low-sided bridge and is now out in the crosswind. He begins to fishtail and swerve, fighting the wheel with all he has, and is in and out of both lanes. Very fortunately, the following traffic wuz back far enough to see the situation and slow down. Believe it or not, he regains control and direction; slows down and pulls off on the shoulder. I'm figgering he's gonna call for directions to the nearest laundromat!! Geeez, that wuz scarey. I can't imagine what it's like further west out IH-10 where there are no wind blocks for miles. I'd be parkin' it.

Many airports are experiencing delays due to high winds.

I love rolling into the parking deck and MC parking area, being the only Motorcyclist willing or determined to ride no matter the weather.

I had that exact thought as I walked out this afternoon !! It's a good feeling, isn't it?
