It's probably a longshot, but figured I'd ask the question ...
Anyone done or have more info on the BMW ComII and CB install for the R1200RT? I was all set to just do another Autocom install on this bike, but then this week there was a post over on bmwsporttouring.com from a guy who just had the BMW install done by his dealer. When I hit the shop this morning for my 600 mile service, they didn't have any info on the comII.
From what I've heard, the comII intercom integrates very nicely with the factory am/fm/cd radio. With the BMW CB, it shares the factory radio antenna .. so no extra antenna to mount/ground/tune. The headset recepticals use bulkhead connectors for a more finished look, instead of dangling cables which has always annoyed me with my Autocom setup.
Anyway ... I haven't found any info on the BMW website. Hoping someone here might be able to share some details.

If I were installing a CB/Intercom on and RT I would go with this unit http://www.jmcorp.com/SeeProducts.asp?PF=24. My brother has one on his RT and it is sweet. No noise on the CB and the music rocks.

Thanks Joe!
I did find where BMW is selling their rebranded J&M for the 1200RT now. The nice things with the BMW kit is that it reuses the factory am/fm antenna, connects directly to the factory radio harness as well as the Navigator harness, and has another mono interface for use with a radar detector.
The only downside is that the JMCB2003 (and the BMW labeled product) won't take a cell phone, doesn't have another stereo interface for my XM radio, and pretty well locks me into CB with no option for FRS. I was hoping for something more like the LT's VOICE system, which can connect back to the Communicator for CB if needed, but also handles cell and FRS connections.
I might be asking for too much it seems ...

Add this, http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=JM%2DJCB03%2DCFRG, to the J&M & you can hook up cell phone, satellite, Gps & whatever else you need. Get it all through Sierra for about half the BMW price. If you call Sierra they will have everything you need, including the single antenna.

I have the JMCB2003 and a Firestik antenna.
But I can not figure out a mount for the Firestik on the RT.
Will the built in am/fm antenna work?
Does anyone have a way to mount the Firestik?
Thanks, George
