and not leaking any vital fluids.
For those of you that have been following the saga of my bike, it is now back on the road.
Last Saturday I officially gave up, took the gearbox to Lonestar and said, "Help!".
This was after I found that the weep hole that I drilled was not the cause of the leak. Tipped the gearbox on its side before re-installing and oil poured out of the ouside of the seal, not the shaft side. It's the seal that goes in that same housing - output side of input shaft. Turns out it is real touchy about position and I had it too far in. Lonestar drove a new one in with their BMW special tool and only charged me for the seal - $13!! The Clymer manual makes note of this, but the BMW service manual just says use the special tool.

So I now have an LT that is running better than ever. New clutch, new rear main seal, new gearbox seals and while it was under I installed HID low beam as well (Wow, as everybody says) and did canisterectomy.

Thanks to all for the support and all I can say is - drill that weep hole and save yourself a heap of problems down the road if you intend keeping it beyond the waranty.

Weather looks good for this week, so time to ride
:yeah: :yeah:

Nope. Too much stuff and people to take on the bike.
Now that I've got her running I am going lay her up for about 6 weeks.:D
At least I won't have to deal with it when I get back.

Just went for short ride at lunch time -this weather is great. If only TX was like this all year round.

Congrats Brian. You've done your fair share the last couple of months so you're entitled to this weather.

Man, Brian. You keep on working like I do, redoing stuff three times, I'm gonna have to give you one of my many dummy awards.

Glad you got her back together and running good!
